The configuration screen allows for many of the parameters which are unique to your compensation environment to be set by the user, rather than hard-coded into the system. In this screen, note that position title is a 4-character field, salary grade is two characters, department codes are in ##-###-### format, performance rating '5' is the highest score, '1' is the lowest score, additional increases can be entered and paid as lump sum bonuses, and more. Run-time configuration of these parameters, among others, allows you to have a package solution which truly is customized for your environment.
